BPF Leader Chandan Brahma To Join UPPL On April 12

 

GUWAHATI: Former Assam minister for tourism and senior Bodoland People's Front (BPF) leader, Chandan Brahma, has decided to join rival United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), which is part of the ruling alliance headed by the BJP in the state.

Addressing a press conference in Bongaigaon on April 8, Brahma said he would join the UPPL on April 12. He said he would join the party at an event in Kajalgaon and he would be accompanied by leaders from various political parties.

Brahma emphasised that his decision to join the UPPL stems from the need to work towards fostering lasting peace, development, and progress in the region.

The move is expected to have a significant impact on  the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the BTR area.
