GUWAHATI: In another barbaric incident of animal cruelty reported from the state of Kerala, locals of the Malappuram district allegedly fed a pineapple stuffed with firecrackers to a pregnant elephant on last wednesday.
The elephant was brutally killed after the pineapple exploded in its mouth. A forest official, Mohan Krishnan from Malappuram informed that the elephant had wandered into the village in search of food when locals fed the elephant the pineapple filled with crackers.
The tusker did not hurt anyone and died standing in the river. “She trusted everyone. When the pineapple she ate exploded, she must have been shocked not thinking about herself, but about the child she was going to give birth to in 18 to 20 months,” posted Mohan Krishnan on Facebook with pictures of the elephant.
