GUWAHATI: Former chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta was denied to hold a meeting at the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) party office in Ambari area of Guwahati, on January 8.
Later Mahanta was forced to shift his meeting to another venue- Lakhiram Sadan.
Mahanta lambasted the party, led by President and Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, and said that if anybody wants to support the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, they should join the BJP.
It is to be mentioned that Mahanta and his followers have been against the legislation creating a rift in ideology between him and the new AGP brigade.
