GUWAHATI: Guidelines were issued by the District Administration for passengers crossing the recently inaugurated Bogibeel Bridge.
The guidelines were issued for safety purposes, informed the District Administration on December 29.
According to these guidelines, no vehicle will be allowed to stop for more than 2 minutes on either side of the bridge and anyone found violating these rules will be penalised accordingly. Police and security forces will also be deployed over the bridge soon to monitor the traffic and flow of passengers coming and going.
This decision came a day after twin accidents on the bridge shook everyone. Meanwhile, it must be noted that a viral video of bike riders stunting over the bridge was being circulated which showed them doing dangerous stunts and putting their lives and other’s lives at risk.
