Police Stations of Assam to be upgraded

State Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary on Monday during the Assembly session announced that all the police stations and outposts of the state will be upgraded as per requirement.

He also informed that a police station assessment matrix has been prepared to address all the issues related to the police stations and outposts.

According to sources present during the Assam Assembly session, most of the police stations are in need of repair or reconstruction.

The minister added that a scheme, Mission for Overall Improvement of Thana for Responsive Image (MOITRI) has been taken up for infrastructure development of the police stations.

The administration has already approved an amount of Rs 189 cr for upgrading 73 police stations across Assam.
