GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on March 30 to address two election campaigns in Biswanath’s Gohpur and Dibrugarh’s Moran towns.
Based on reports, 900 million people will vote in the 2019 polls. 84.3 million new voters since 2014, 15 million voters in the age of 18 and 19. The Lok Sabha elections in Assam will be held in three phases on April 11th, 18th and 23rd, 2019. The votes will be counted on May 23rd, 2019. Polling will be held in seven phases and the last date of nomination of phase 1 is March 25th, 2019.
The term of the present Lok Sabha ends on June 3rd, 2019. In the last general elections, the Congress won just three seats out of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam while the BJP won seven seats.
