PM Modi Launches #IndiaSupportsCAA Campaign on Twitter

GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, launched a Twitter campaign in support of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019.

Supporting the Act, PM Modi stated that the CAA does not take away the citizenship of any Indian national.

It is to be mentioned that there has been peace for the past several days and the state government is leaving no stone unturned to assuage the concerns of those opposed to the Act.

Currently, there are around 383,000 tweets which are trending in support of the act.

CAA grants Indian citizenship to people persecuted from Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Parsi and Christian communities from three countries - Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. These people should have come to Indian before 2015 after facing religious persecution in the respective countries.
