GUWAHATI: Early in the morning of April 5, a body of a male individual was discovered on the banks of the Brahmaputra River beneath the new Saraighat bridge, towards Jalukbari.
The Pandu river police were notified around 7 AM, and the body was subsequently transported for post-mortem examination.

Initial assessments suggest the man's age to be approximately 30 years old; however, his identity remains unidentified.
Speaking to GPlus, an official from the Pandu river police station said, "Upon receiving information we rushed to the spot to find the body on the banks. The circumstances surrounding the incident whether it was a suicide attempt or not, remain uncertain. We can confirm it after the PM report."
Further investigations are underway.
