Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is the biggest airport of Northeast India. Covering an area of 656 acres, the airport also serves as an Indian Air Force base.
Formerly known as Borjhar airport, the Guwahati airport was later named Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
The airport, that was initially constructed in 1958 and underwent renovation in 1993, is all set to expand with a new integrated terminal building.
