Owners Requested to Waive Off, Reduce Rent for April

GUWAHATI: Owing to the lockdown, all shops except those selling essential commodities remained closed all through the month of April. 

As such, the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M), Biswajit Pegu, has urged all shop and building owners to waive off or reduce the rent of their tenants for the month of April.

Earlier, the DC had held a meeting with members of market associations wherein it was suggested that "building owners should rebate or waive the rent for the last month as businesses were closed.”
