Over ₹3 Crore Spent On Conducting Cabinet Meetings Across Assam

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has spent more than ₹3 crore in order to hold cabinet meetings in various districts of the state.

The state government has spent a total of ₹3,68,30,116 until now to hold cabinet meetings in different parts of the state.

The data was revealed in response to a question asked by the MLA of North Karimganj, Kamlakhya Dey Purkayastha at the Assam State Assembly today.

The information reveals that ₹48,42,173 was spent in Jorhat,  ₹30,60,000 in Silchar, ₹1,13,92,399 in Dima Hasao, ₹21,09,108 in Kokrajhar, ₹55,54,034 in Bongaigaon, ₹7,69,000 in Sonitpur, ₹34,08,361 in Dhemaji, ₹35,15,912 in Dibrugarh and ₹21,79,129 spent on Kamrup (M). 

Cabinet meetings have been held in various places over time instead of Dispur on various occasions.

The government has pointed out that this was done for the development of the respective districts but many have also criticised the expenditure incurred by it.
