Over 42 Lakh Additional Individuals In Assam To Receive Ration Cards

GUWAHATI: More than 42 lakh people in Assam are set to receive ration cards, unlocking a range of associated benefits for the beneficiaries. This move is poised to improve access to essential commodities and government welfare schemes for a larger section of the population.

The expanded benefits of the Ration Card include a monthly allocation of 5 kg of rice per person, contributing to food security measures.

Additionally, beneficiaries will be eligible for coverage of up to ₹5 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Scheme, enhancing healthcare accessibility for the enrolled individuals.

Furthermore, the Ration Card holders will be entitled to subsidised cooking gas under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, providing economic relief in household energy expenses.

The distribution of Ration Cards is expected to streamline the delivery of subsidies and support schemes to the eligible population in Assam.
