Kamrup achieved 96,088 completed homes out of 1,02,452 sanctioned, while Kamrup Metro completed 10,507 homes of 12,766 sanctioned. Nalbari reported a near-complete success, with 47,432 homes finished from the 50,817 sanctioned.
The PMAY-G scheme identifies beneficiaries using data from the Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) 2011, focusing on households deprived of adequate housing. The Awaas+ survey was conducted between 2018 and 2019, identifying additional potential beneficiaries.
Nationally, 2.04 crore eligible beneficiaries have been identified, with plans to build 2 crore additional homes by 2029.
In Assam, these efforts have brought significant relief to many rural families, although challenges remain in meeting the needs of all eligible beneficiaries.
