Over 1 Crore People Visit Health Camps Across India During Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra

GUWAHATI: In an update on the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, health officials have reported a cumulative footfall of 1,03,55,555 individuals across 65,348 health camps conducted in 3,156 Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies as of December 19.

The health camps are actively engaged in various activities, with a focus on key health initiatives:

-Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY): The health camps are instrumental in creating Ayushman cards using the Ayushman app, and physical cards are being distributed to beneficiaries. More than 19,03,200 physical cards have been distributed, and a total of 5,31,025 Ayushman cards were created in the latest health camps. Cumulatively, 84,27,500 cards have been created to date.

-Tuberculosis (TB): Health camps are actively screening patients for TB through symptom screening, sputum testing, and, where available, NAAT machines. Suspected TB cases are referred to higher facilities. Over 36,48,700 individuals have been screened, with more than 2,63,000 referred to higher Public Health Facilities. Under Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMA), consent is being obtained for patients with TB, and more than 1,19,500 patients have given consent.

-Nikshay Poshan Yojana (NPY): Health camps are collecting details of beneficiaries for monetary assistance under NPY, providing direct benefit transfers to TB patients. Details of 31,300 beneficiaries have been collected.

-Sickle Cell Disease (SCD): In areas with a predominant tribal population, health camps are screening eligible individuals for Sickle Cell Disease. More than 3,83,000 people have been screened, with 18,300 testing positive and referred to higher public health facilities.

-Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs): Health camps are actively screening individuals (30 years and above) for Hypertension and Diabetes. Over 81,15,000 people have been screened, with more than 3,74,000 suspected cases of Hypertension, more than 2,69,800 suspected cases of Diabetes, and more than 5,99,200 individuals referred to higher public health facilities.
