GUWAHATI: Officials of the Assam Food and Civil Supplies department conducted an operation on 22nd July at the Beltola vegetable market. The officials were seen moving from shop to shop checking the price of potatoes and onions.
The administration has fixed a price of Rs. 4 for potatoes and Rs. 6 for onions as the maximum price. However, there have been allegations that the traders have been charging higher from the public.
The team seized potatoes from traders who were found selling without an invoice. The seized potatoes will be sold at fair price shops.
