One Arrested And Two Held For Murdering An E-Rickshaw Driver In Assam

 

GUWAHATI: Barpeta police made a significant breakthrough on Tuesday by apprehending three individuals allegedly involved in the murder of an e-rickshaw driver.

The deceased has been identified as Putul Ali, a resident of the Vella area in Barpeta, Assam, and an e-rickshaw driver by profession.

The shocking incident unfolded when Ali went missing on May 4, and his body was discovered buried on May 5 in the Dakreswar area of the Barpeta district in Assam.

Barpeta police revealed to the media that the prime accused in the case, identified as Bibidul Khan was among those apprehended, and he confessed to the crime, implicating his two teammates, who are juveniles. 

The police also informed that Khan confessed to having a prior relationship with the deceased.

Police officials have also disclosed that Khan and Ali were engaged in a physical relationship and they had a dispute regarding the relationship which escalated into a heated altercation leading to the murder. 

The details surrounding the motive and circumstances of the crime are currently under investigation.

The arrested individuals are now in police custody and will face legal proceedings for their alleged involvement in the murder.
