Ombudsman Observes ‘Bima Lokpal Diwas’ in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Office of Insurance Ombudsman, Guwahati today observed ‘Bima Lokpal Diwas’.


The observation started with a press meet addressed by Ombudsman KB Saha who informed the house that the Guwahati office of the Insurance Ombudsman is having the largest jurisdiction of the geographical area covering the seven states of northeast region viz Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Tripura. 


Bima Lokpal Day is being celebrated on November 11 by offices of Insurance Ombudsman across the country and office of the Executive Council of Insurers, Mumbai to create awareness about speedy mechanism for redressal of insurance related advances free of cost.

On the occasion, Ombudsman appealed to the population of the northeast to avail free of cost services from the organisation. 


It should be noted that Ombudsman Guwahati has resolved 596 complaints relating to insurance in the last year itself.
