NTA Announces NEET Re-Examination For 1,563 Students

GUWAHATI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a re-examination for 1,563 students, scheduled to take place on June 23, with the results expected by June 30. This re-examination will be specifically for candidates who were previously awarded ‘compensatory marks’.

NTA had earlier on June 13 informed the Supreme Court of its decision to conduct a re-examination.

The NEET (UG) 2024, administered by the NTA, was held at 4,750 centers across 571 cities, including 14 international locations, accommodating over 24 lakh candidates. The initial results were released on June 4. Following the announcement, a High Powered Committee was formed to address concerns and grievances regarding the awarding of compensatory marks to the 1,563 candidates.

After thorough review and consideration, the committee submitted its recommendations, which have been accepted by the NTA. The re-examination aims to ensure fairness and transparency for the affected candidates.

Candidates involved are advised to prepare for the upcoming re-examination and stay updated through official NTA notifications.

"As per the recommendations of the High Powered Committee, NTA decided to reconduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) [NEET (UG)] - 2024 on 23 June 2024 for 1563 candidates who had experienced time loss during the originally scheduled examination on 05 May 2024 and were awarded compensatory marks," read the official notice.
