Now, Guwahati Residents Can Access Virtual Reality at Planetarium

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Planetarium will have some major additions in the coming years as Rs 12.42 crore has been sanctioned for the same.

On 22nd November, the foundation stone of the project will be laid by minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on the occasion of the closing ceremony of the planetarium's silver jubilee celebrations.


The new facility will have a 5D theatre, a virtual reality lab, a tinkering lab, a state-of-the-art auditorium, and exhibition corners. 


Further, a Virtual Reality Zone (VR Zone) and an Astronomical Gallery will also be inaugurated on the same day. The VR Zone has been set up in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG), and the latter is developed by Creative Museum Designers of Kolkata.
