Over the next four days, Assam and Meghalaya are likely to receive heavy rainfall over isolated areas, particularly on 10th and 11th, while Arunachal Pradesh is expected to witness fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall. As for the remaining northeastern regions, they will experience scattered showers throughout the week.

The weather patterns have been influenced by a well-marked low-pressure area over the Arabian Sea off the Karnataka-Goa coast, which is expected to intensify into a depression in the coming days. Another cyclonic circulation is anticipated to develop over the South Bay of Bengal from October 12, while an existing cyclonic circulation over Assam continues to persist.

The IMD has advised residents of these regions to remain cautious and stay updated on weather alerts, especially those living in flood-prone areas. Authorities are also on standby to manage any weather-related emergencies.

As for Assam, the damp weather mood continues to hamper the ongoing Durga Puja celebrations, with puja pandals suffering from a decreased footfall in traffic due to the recent downpours.
