No Odd/Even Scheme Being Followed in City Presently, Clarifies Guwahati Police

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police took to their official twitter handle on May 5 to announce that there is no order regarding allowing only odd or even numbered vehicles in Guwahati city as of now.

This tweet came as a clarification, following much confusion among Guwahatians, as to whether or not the scheme was being followed.

Last month, the Assam Police, by way of a press release, had informed citizens about adoption of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s idea of odd-even numbered vehicles plying on alternate days to limit the number of vehicles in Assam from 10 to 12 April.

However, April 13 onwards, vehicles used for essential services were allowed to ply with no odd-even restrictions.
