GUWAHATI: Prateek Hajela, NRC Coordinator of Assam has confirmed that no NRC hearings will be held on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, June 5.
Earlier, there were some rumors that did the rounds stating that hearing for NRC claims and objections would be held on the day of Eid.
However, NRC authorities have formally confirmed that no such activity will take place on the day of the holy festival.

Hajela has also requested people not to follow these baseless rumors.
He also added that notices and schedules for the hearings had been scheduled way ahead of time and that this clarification would be posted on their social media platforms as well.
