No New Cases Reported in Assam in Past 7 Days: Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI: In a relief for the state, Assam has not reported any positive case for COVID-19 in the past seven days, informed state health and family welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a press meet on April 22.

It is to be mentioned that till Assam has seen 34 positive patients, while 19 have been discharged. Further one death has taken place due to the virus in Assam and currently there are 14 active cases.

The minister informed that Assam has a death rate of 2.94% due to COVID-19 whereas the India death rate is 3.2%.

Assam has conducted 5789 tests till now and results for 214 are awaited. Sarma said that the state has 3,338 isolation beds, 440 ICU facility and 10,061 quarantine facility.
