GUWAHATI: The Home Ministry in a written reply to the Lok Sabha said that the centre has taken no decision yet on bringing nationwide National Register of Citizens (NRC).
Ministry of Home Affairs MoS Nityanand Rai said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha that "till now, the government has not taken any decision to prepare National Register of Citizens (NRC) at the national level."
Earlier, On November 20, 2019, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in Parliament that the Nation Register of Citizens (NRC) would be prepared for every state in the country.
