No Complaints Regarding 'Assured Minimum Facility', Says Assam Chief Electoral Officer

 


GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Electoral Officer, Anurag Goel, has stated that there have been no complaints regarding the provision of 'Assured Minimum Facility' during the recent elections. 

He addressed the media at Janata Bhawan on May 6, 2024, regarding the third phase of elections in the state.

Talking to GPlus, Goel, Assam Chief Electoral Officer stated, "I have not received any complaints from the observers regarding the lack of assured minimum facilities. I conducted meetings with the observers prior to the elections in every phase. I specifically met with all the observers from different districts but no complaints were raised." 

"Additionally, there were no instructions from the commission to place fans outside the polling queues", he said.

However, he said that fans were available inside the polling stations as he ensured electricity availability well in advance. 

"We checked these things from October onwards. The DCs gave me compliance report in the middle of February that AMF (Assured Minimum Facilities) completed and the observers who come first they see all these things. In fact we passed on all these instructions to all the DCs that wherever there is no drinking water facility in the polling station we asked them to provide 20 litres canister sufficient numbers so that people can have access to drinking water," state election officer further added.
