GUWAHATI: The National Health Mission (NHM), Assam clarified that the person admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital is infected with measles and not coronavirus.
Earlier their were reports of a man hailing from Morigaon district was admitted to the hospital following a screening at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati.
In a statement, the NHM said, “The person admitted in GMCH with fever and skin rash symptoms is infected with measles. The person is not identified as a positive coronavirus patient and is kept under observation.” Measles is a very contagious respiratory infection. It causes body rash and flu-like symptoms.
