GUWAHATI: In a press meet conducted on July 11, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma urged Covid-19 positive patients with co-morbidity to carry their own necessary medicines, if possible.

"For patients who could not bring their own medicines for the other diseases and ailments upon hospitalisation, their relatives may submit a photocopy of the prescription at the NHM office," added Sarma.

A special counter is to be provided at NHM office for the same, and medicines are to be provided by the health department upon receiving the prescriptions.

“We would urge them to give the medicines along with the prescription and details of the patients, so that we might deliver the same. As some medicine might not be available in the market, it might be difficult for us to procure. So I request the family to provide the medicines to the extent possible at the NHM office," said the health minister.
