GUWAHATI: In a bid to cater to the surge in passenger demand during the upcoming Puja season, the Northeast Frontier Railway has announced the operation of four additional pairs of special trains.
These puja special trains are set to connect New Jalpaiguri with Sealdah and Howrah, making travel more convenient for festive commuters.
Train number 82315 is scheduled for a single trip, departing from Sealdah at 23:40 hours on October 21, 2023 (Saturday) and arriving at New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 hours the following day. On the return journey, Suvidha Puja Special train number 82316 (New Jalpaiguri - Sealdah) will embark on October 22, 2023 (Sunday), departing from New Jalpaiguri at 12:45 hours and reaching Sealdah at 00:30 hours the next day.
Train number 82301 is slated for a single journey, commencing from Howrah at 23:55 hours on October 25, 2023 (Wednesday) and reaching New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 hours the following day. On the return route, Suvidha Puja Special train number 82302 (New Jalpaiguri - Howrah) is set to leave New Jalpaiguri at 12:45 hours on October 26, 2023 (Thursday), and arrive at Howrah at 00:10 hours on the subsequent day.
Train number 03103 will operate for five trips, departing from Sealdah at 23:40 hours on all Saturdays from October 28 until November 25, 2023. It will reach New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 hours the following day. On the way back, Puja Special train number 03104 (New Jalpaiguri - Sealdah) will embark on five trips, leaving New Jalpaiguri at 12:45 hours on all Sundays from October 29 until November 26, 2023, and arriving at Sealdah at 00:30 hours the next day.
Train number 03027 will run for five trips, departing from Howrah at 23:55 hours on all Wednesdays from November 1 to November 29, 2023, and reaching New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 hours the following day. On the return journey, Puja Special train number 03028 (New Jalpaiguri - Howrah) will embark on five trips, leaving New Jalpaiguri at 12:45 hours on all Thursdays from November 2 to November 30, 2023, and arriving at Howrah at 00:10 hours the next day.
All these puja special trains will follow the Bandel, Azimganj Jn., Malda Town, Barsoi, and Kishanganj route during both their onward and return journeys.
