NFR To Increase Capacity, Routes For Upcoming Festive Season

GUWAHATI: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to increase the capacity of many long-distance and passenger trains to meet the demand for passengers who will be travelling during the upcoming Durga Puja and Diwali holidays. 

Based on reports, one AC 3-tier coach will be attached to train no. 12424/12423 New Delhi-Dibrugarh Town Rajdhani Express between October 1 and November 2.

In addition to this, one AC 2-tier with AC 3-tier coach has already been attached to train No. 19709/19710 Udaipur City-Kamakhya-Udaipur City Kavi Guru Express with effect from September 2 and the service will continue till October 3.

One AC 3-tier and one sleeper class coach will also be attached to train No. 13181/13182 Kolkata-Silghat Town-Kolkata Weekly Express between September 30 and November 26.

The special train no. 02514 from Guwahati to Secunderabad has been running since August 31 and will continue to be in operation till November 2. It comprises one AC 2-tier, four AC 3-tier and eleven sleeper class coaches.

Special passenger train no. 07525/07526 will run daily between Siliguri Junction and New Bongaigaon, departing from Siliguri Junction between October 1 this year to March 31, 2020, and from New Bongaigaon between October 2 and April 1 2020.

Special train No. 03161/03162 Sealdah-Guwahati-Sealdah Weekly AC Special will run on October 5, October 12, October 19, October 26, November 2, November 9, November 16, November 23 and November 30 from Guwahati Railway Station. 

In the opposite route, it will run from Sealdah on October 4, October 11, October 18, October 25, November 1, November 8, November 15, November 22 and November 29. The train will have 16 AC 3-tier coaches. 

Further, the NFR has also decided to operate several special trains during the upcoming festive season.
