GUWAHATI: The New Year picnic turned sour for a Guwahati couple who visited the Hatisila picnic spot on Sunday, January 10. The couple had gone to spend their weekend on the famous picnic spot at Hatisila in Chandrapur.
However, the respective families of the couple also visited the same picnic spot. Following this, the parents of the boy and the girl had a verbal spat. This was informed to G Plus by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) Chandrapur Police Station Bhaskar Kalita.
A complaint has been filed in the Police Station by both the parties regarding the spat. "This should not be considered as a picnic-related violence but a personal spat which occurred at a picnic place," added the official.
There have been repeated incidences of arguments in the picnic spots across the city as per the local media. Locals have also alleged occurrences of drunken brawl in the peripheries of Chandrapur areas.
