New Trains Flagged Off From Guwahati, To Boost Rail Connectivity In Barak Valley

 

GUWAHATI: In a boost to railway connectivity in the Barak Valley, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday joined hands with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to launch a series of new train services from Guwahati.

A new tri-weekly train service originating from Guwahati and heading to Dullabcherra has commenced, along with the extended service of the Guwahati–Secunderabad-Guwahati train route to Silchar.

Extension of the Guwahati–Secunderabad-Guwahati train route to Silchar will be the first direct train service connecting the Barak Valley with Telangana.

Another new train, the Agartala–Sabroom–Agartala DEMU, and the extended service of the Kamakhya–Lokmanya Tilak (T)–Kamakhya route up to Agartala was also flagged off on Thursday at Agartala.

The flagging-off ceremony was graced by Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha at the Agartala railway station.

The Guwahati–Dullabcherra–Guwahati Express, train No. 15617/15618, will operate three days a week starting from October 21, increasing travel options between Guwahati and Dullabcherra.

The extended service of train No. 12513/12514 (Secunderabad-Silchar-Secunderabad) Express is scheduled to commence its regular operations from October 21, with journeys from Secunderabad to Silchar and back.

The extended service of train No. 12519/12520 (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Agartala–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus) Express will begin regular journeys from October 22. This extended service aims to improve connectivity between Lokmanya Tilak (T) and Agartala.

The regular service of train No. 07688/07687 (Agartala–Sabroom-Agartala) daily DEMU Special will start from October 20, enhancing transportation between Agartala and Sabroom.

In addition to the regular services, special inaugural trains will also be initiated. Train No. 02514 (Silchar–Guwahati) and train No. 02520 (Agartala–Guwahati) will offer passengers an opportunity to experience these routes.
