GUWAHATI: With three injured players in the team NEUFC is ready to face Jamshedpur FC at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in the city today.

Defender Keegan Pereira, Forward KiviZhimoni and Midfielder Simranjit Singh are currently injured.

“Keegan is not game fit. He is undergoing practice and we are hoping for him to play with his skills,” NEUFC coach EelcoSchattorie said while addressing press men.

Schattorie said that after three games NEUFC is bogged down by over estimation, over confidence and the team needs to be more organized.

“The pressure of playing at the home ground is much difficult than playing abroad. We have now higher anticipation from the home crowd. The mental level of the players is such a thing which the coach cannot control,” he said.

“Jamshedpur FC is really a strong team. They like playing football all the time. We look forward for an attractive game and a hard game,” he added.

NEUFC is currently afflicted by another trouble in the form of non-availability of regular Goalkeeper TP Rehenesh as he has been suspended from three games. Schattorie hoped that Pawan Kumar would pull his socks up for the game tomorrow.

“Rehenesh has been suspended for three games including the game tomorrow. We are look forward to Pawan Kumar our another goalkeeper to take his place. I wish I could let him more in the pre-season to make him adapted to the situation. Moreover, we have to play with what we have and we have a young side to move forward, that is the good part,” Schattorie added.

In the last three games, NEUFC has played a draw against Goa in the first game, won against Chennaiyin FC and ATK. Jamshedpur FC has won against Mumbai City in the first game and draw against ATK and Bengaluru FC.
