NE Political Parties to meet in Guwahati over Citizenship (Amendment) Bill

GUWAHATI: All the political parties of Northeast India are all set to gather for a meeting at Guwahati on 29 January for a discussion on the Citizenship (Amendment)  Bill 2016 and its growing protests.

With the ongoing protests and massive uproar against the Citizenship (Amendment) bill across the northeastern states, this meeting would be significant in drawing a conclusion towards the bill.

The meeting has been summoned by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.

It is to mention that the majority of these political parties are constituent of the North Eastern Democratic Alliance (NEDA).
