GUWAHATI: Hansraj Gangaram, the Chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), will embark on an official visit to Guwahati from November 10 to 11.
His visit is of significant importance, with discussions centred around Other Backward Classes (OBC) reservation and welfare measures.
Accompanying Chairperson Gangaram are Rajeev Ranjan, Secretary, and Rajesh Kumar, Advisor of NCBC.
Key Highlights of the Visit:
Review Meeting on OBC Reservation and Welfare Measures:
• On November 10, a pivotal review meeting is scheduled at the State Guest House, Guwahati.
• The meeting will involve high-ranking officials from the states of Assam, Manipur, and Sikkim.
• Participants include Chief Secretaries of Assam, Manipur, and Sikkim, Director General of Police of Assam, Commissioners of Health for the Governments of Assam and Manipur, Secretary of Health for Sikkim, as well as the Secretaries for State Commission for Backward Classes of Assam, Sikkim, and Manipur.
• The discussions are set to revolve around OBC reservation and welfare initiatives.
Meetings with Prominent Organisations:
• Chairperson Gangaram will also have a review meeting with key organisations and companies.
• These include the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Oil India Limited, Managing Director of Numaligarh Refinery Limited, the Head of Project for ONGC projects/offices located in the State of Assam (through CMD and CEO) ONGC, the Executive Director of Guwahati Refineries (IOCL), and the Chief General Manager of Digboi Refineries (IOCL).
Additional Meeting with Prominent Organisations:
• Another review meeting is scheduled on the same day with the CMD of North Eastern Coalfield Limited, CMD of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited, and the General Manager of NHPC Loktak, Manipur, and NIT Silchar.
