Nagma, Brinda Karat set to campaign in Assam

GUWAHATI: As the Lok Sabha elections are approaching closer, all political parties are going all out for campaigning.

In the list of star campaigners for Assam, a recent addition has been made- that of actor-turned-politician from Congress, Nagma Morarji. She is set to visit Assam to campaign for Congress leader and MP Gaurav Gogoi.

Gogoi will contest the elections from Kaliabor Lok Sabha seat and is in a direct fight against Moni Madhab Mahanta of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP).

Congress’ star campaigner- Nagma -will campaign for Gogoi on April 9 and will participate in a roadshow in Bokakhat. Nagma is also the General Secretary of All India Mahila Congress.

On the other hand, Communist Party of India (Marxist) politburo member Brinda Karat will also visit Assam on April 12 to campaign for CPI (M).

She will hold public meetings at Barama and Barpeta Road for CPI (M)’s Kokrajhar candidate Biraj Deka.

Further, Manik Sarkar- politburo member of CPI (M) and former Tripura Chief Minister will also campaign in Assam on April 19 and 20.
