GUWAHATI: Demonstrating the unique syncretic traditions of Assam, a Muslim man in the Sivasagar district has donated one cow to one of the biggest religious institutions of Assam.

A local journalist from Sivasagar Khalilur Rahman donated the cow to the Shiva Dol.

Rahman domesticated the cow at his own house. The family named the cow 'Biscuit' as the cow liked eating biscuits.

Speaking to the media, Khalil Rahman said, "It is our pet. My daughter has fed her since birth. She used to like biscuits, and so we named her Biscuit."

The Chief Priest of Shiva Dol Suresh Borthakur has stated that there is no difference in religion in front of the Almighty.

The Sivadol in Sivasagar Assam was constructed under the Ahom Kingdom.

The Shiva Dol or Shiva temple, built in the Shikhara architecture (more specifically, Ahom temple architecture), has a central tower that is said to be the tallest Shiva temple tower in India at the height of 104 feet (32 m).
