GUWAHATI: The commencement of Mission Basundhara 3.0 was announced by the Assam Government, in the State Cabinet Meeting on February 12.

This succeeded Mission Basundhara 2.0, which is set to conclude on February 16, 2024. This new mission aims to further streamline and modernise land-related services across the state.

Mission Basundhara 3.0 encompasses an array of services designed to enhance the efficiency and transparency of land-related processes.

The key services include the digitalisation of land settlement for non-individual judicial entities, granting ownership rights to urban tenants, settling Bhoodan/Gramdan land, converting grant land to periodic patta, addressing the settlement of lands acquired from religious institutions, and initiating "Map as a Service."

Additionally, the mission proposes the end-to-end digitalization of the annual patta process and the conversion of annual pattas to PP (Permanent Patta). These initiatives are geared towards simplifying and expediting land-related transactions, ensuring a more accessible and streamlined process for citizens.

One of the notable highlights of Mission Basundhara 3.0 is the ceremonial distribution of land ownership documents, or "pattas," across the state from February 23 to 29. This symbolic gesture aims to mark the culmination of the mission and the tangible impact it has on residents.
