GUWAHATI: Tokyo Olympics silver-medallist and Manipur's pride Mirabai Chanu, became the only Indian weightlifter to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics Games.

The 34-year-old weightlifter finished third in the women's 49kg Group B of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Women's World Cup event, which is a mandatory qualifier for the Paris Olympics.

The 2017 World Champion had finished fourth in the 2023 Asian Games at Hangzhou last year after she was forced to crash out due to a thigh injury, thus making her unable to participate in further completions.
