The event was also attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and State Health Minister Ashok Singhal.

This facility aims to enhance academic and research capabilities at LGBRIMH. Following the inauguration, Nadda participated in the Board of Governors meeting held at the institute, discussing strategies for further development of mental health services.

Nadda, who is on a one-day visit to Assam, reached the hospital complex despite delays caused by inclement weather, which forced a shift from air travel to road.

Later in the day, the minister further travelled to Mangaldai in Darrang district, where he laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art 50-bed critical care block at Mangaldai Civil Hospital.
