Meghalaya Entry Points to be Closed for a Week From August 31

GUWAHATI: The Meghalaya government has decided to close all entry points to the state for one week every month in the next three months, starting September 2020, said Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday.

On August 21, the government issued an order notifying the closure of all operational entry points from midnight of August 31 to midnight of September 7, 2020.
 

The entry points are located at Byrnihat, Ratacherra, Bajengdoba, Tikkrikkilla, Mirjumla and Hallidayganj.

"Only movements related to emergency, medical and essential services, goods and inter-state transit vehicles will be allowed during this period," states the order, adding that all persons who intend to visit / return to Meghalaya during this period may reschedule their plans.
