GUWAHATI: Mithun Das, a traffic cop from Guwahati ruled social media today as he braved a heavy downpour in the city.
A video captured earlier showed Mithun continuously managing traffic during rush hour, which was made all the more difficult as it was accompanied by a heavy thunderstorm.
While most other posts in the city seemed abandoned, the video won people's hearts and everyone lauded him for his commitment.
Mithun, who was lauded from all corners for his professionalism talking to G Plus said, that during peak hours, there is huge traffic jam at Basistha Chariali point and only a flyover here is the solution.
Das hails from Manja in Karbi Anglong and had joined the Assam police services in 2015.
Since 2017 he has been posted at Basistha police station as a police Constable and is known for his professionalism.
A senior police officer of Guwahati East district taking to G Plus said, "We require people like Mithun Das in the force, but everyone does not know the meaning of professionalism."
Das is still single and aims to become an officer before retiring.
Mithun Das because of financial crisis was not able to complete his education and joined police after completing his matriculation.
With or without degree, Mithun single handedly proved that it is with hard work and commitment to your responsibility that you can make a difference in a positive way.
