Medical Team Deployed at Jorhat Airport to Screen Coronavirus

GUWAHATI: A medical team has been set up at Jorhat airport, Rowriah amidst the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus which has been declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The team will screen infected passengers coming from other states.

The team comprises of two physicians and four paramedics. They will be checking ones body temperature with an infrared thermometer, according to Assam Health Department. Reports suggest that no case of coronavirus has been detected at the airport so far.

Earlier, a medical team was deployed at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati.

According to reports, no isolation has been kept ready at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) for the virus infected patients.
