ROING: A massive fire broke out at the lower market of the town located in Lower Dibang valley on 31st July.
The fire had spread to a huge portion of the market in just a matter of minutes. The fire completely gutted out a section of the market, resulting in great damage to goods and properties.
The locals said that they have never seen a gigantic outbreak as such, in or around the town.
According to the locals, the fire department did not have adequate amount of water or resources in store to douse the fire which led to a fight among local youth and the fire department causing damage to both sides.
Following scarcity of water, help had to be taken from the neighboring district Lohit and neighboring state Assam, assisted by PHE, Roing and BRO water tanker trucks.
Despite the collective effort, there had been a great loss to a certain amount of the population. However, no casualty has been reported.
An arrangement has been made for relief stay and food at the Circuit House and Anchal Samiti Hall.
