GUWAHATI: The police in Gauripur, Dhubri, apprehended Abu Bakar Siddique, a resident of Byllar Char, after finding 15 ATMs in his possession, raising suspicions of involvement in theft and fraud.
The arrest took place on December 8. While the exact nature of Siddique’s activities remains undisclosed, authorities suspect the presence of a larger fraud network.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from the Gauripur police station, “We arrested Siddique as we found multiple ATMs in his possession which we suspect he uses to scam people and dupe them by looting funds. He has now been sent to the jail.”
