GUWAHATI: On Sunday evening at approximately 9:30 PM in Boragaon's Garo Gali, a man killed his lover and tried to kill her husband and two sons leaving the community in shock.
Apparently, the perpetrator identified as Niranjan Gohain took his own life afterwards.
The victim has been identified as Rita Das, whose life was tragically cut short in the incident. Gohain reportedly took the life of his lover before attempting to end the lives of her husband and two sons. The victims are currently undergoing medical treatment at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), as confirmed by a police official at Gorchuk Police Station.
According to sources they were in a romantic relationship for the past few months.
The motive behind the incident is yet to be fully ascertained, and investigations are underway to uncover the details surrounding this event.
