GUWAHATI: A 56-year-old man, Vikram Lohar, lost his life after being attacked by a rhinoceros near Hatikhuli Haldibari in Kaziranga on January 27, Monday.

The incident occurred on National Highway 37, where the rhino had strayed out of the forest and into a human-populated area. Lohar, who was on his usual morning walk, sustained severe injuries during the unexpected encounter.
He was rushed to the Shaheed Kamala Miri Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital in Bokakhat for urgent medical care. Unfortunately, despite the doctors' best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
