Man Killed By Green Bus Near Kamakhya 10 Days Back Yet To Be Identified  

 

GUWAHATI: On March 20, a body of a middle-aged man was found near the Hero Showroom situated on the road downhill from Kamakhya Devalaya. Authorities later confirmed that the man died in a road accident involving an ASTC green bus. 

The body was later sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for postmortem examination.

Speaking to GPlus, a traffic official from Jalukbari Police Station said, "The unfortunate incident took place due the confusion of two buses, the green bus under ASTC tried to maneuver from behind and ended up driving past the body. After preliminary investigation it was noticed that it was impossible to figure out that a human was actually sleeping there."  The body has remained at the GMCH morgue pending the completion of the postmortem process. Despite efforts, the identity of the deceased has remained unknown.

To aid in the identification process, office of the Deputy Commisioner of Police, West Guwahati Police District, has issued WT messages to all police stations and authorities across Assam, urging citizens to report any information regarding the deceased or his family immediately.

It has also been revealed that the deceased had been residing in the downhill area of Kamakhya Hills for the past year, sustaining himself through begging.
