Man from Assam urges people to save him from abusive son on Twitter

GUWAHATI: A man from Assam, Harendra Nath Gayan has urged people to save him from his younger son, Rituraj Gayan who regularly beats, slaps and kicks him and also asks him for money on Twitter. He tagged VoiceofAxom, Twitter and HelpAge India on his tweet.  

Rituraj is a computer engineer with an MBA degree. Gayan is a retired teacher and said that Rituraj also beats his mother, elder brother and his brother’s wife. Both Gayan and his wife are diabetic and heart disease patients and his wife also has senile dementia. 

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the finance minister of Assam on Twitter intervened and said that he has filed an FIR on the basis of Gayan’s tweet. 

Speaking to G Plus, ADCP (PCR) Ponjit Dowarah said that he has spoken to Harendra Nath but he has denied any police help. 

“I contacted him but he said that he didn’t require any police help at the moment. I have given him my number so he can contact me if required. He said he is not in a position to file a formal complaint to the police,” Dowarah said.
