Man Arrested With Yaba Tablets Worth ₹1 Crore While Traveling From Assam To Meghalaya

 

GUWAHATI: The Anti Narcotics Task Force of the East Jaintia Hills police in Meghalaya apprehended an individual with a consignment of yaba tablets worth ₹1 crore.

The arrest took place near Ladrymbai police station.

The accused has been identified as Sanju Singh, a resident of Harijan Colony, East Khasi Hills, as per reports.

Singh was intercepted on a bus en route to Shillong from Silchar.

During the thorough inspection of the bus, the police discovered Singh, who was found in possession of 149 blue sachets concealed in a laptop bag.

In accordance with the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the authorities promptly seized the consignment.

The accused was taken into custody, and his mobile phone was also confiscated.

An ongoing investigation is now underway to trace the source and origin of the suspected drugs.
