GUWAHATI: A man was arrested in Assam’s Barpeta district for vandalising a Laxmi temple in Keotkuchi area on Wednesday, October 9.
Reportedly, the accused vandalised the idol, looted the gold and silver ornaments and also damaged the floor of the temple. Additionally, he later tore the posters and banners of the forthcoming Laxmi Puja.
The man was caught by the locals and was later handed over to the police, as per reports. The accused has been identified as Rafikul Ali and a case has been registered against him.
